How strong is this fully automatic Brinell hardness tester that can support workpieces weighing up to 100 kilograms?
2026-09-22
In the field of metal material testing, Brinell hardness measurement is a commonly used method for evaluating the mechanical properties of large forgings, castings, and coarse-grained materials. For scenarios such as batch testing and overloaded workpieces, the automation level and force accuracy of the equipment directly affect the testing efficiency and data reliability.
The THBS-3000XP-XYZF fully automatic Brinell hardness tester is independently developed and produced by Nippon Paint, with a force range of 62.5Kgf to 3000Kgf, covering 12 types of Brinell scales, and supporting automatic displacement measurement and fully automatic focusing reading of heavy-duty workbenches. From a practical usage perspective, the following outlines the core functions and applicable scenarios of the device.

1、 Loading and lifting system
The Z-axis adopts electric lifting method, and after placing the sample, the equipment automatically rises to the predetermined position and starts the indentation process. The loading system is a closed-loop electric control system, and the entire force application process is automatically executed by the program without the need for manual intervention. This design can effectively reduce the workload of operators during batch testing.
2、 Heavy duty worktable and multi-point measurement
The XY mobile worktable equipped with the equipment has a load-bearing capacity of over 100 kilograms and is suitable for heavy workpieces such as large gears, shafts, flanges, etc. By precise displacement of the workpiece table, the equipment can automatically complete multi-point hardness measurements of the same workpiece in different areas, without the need for manual repositioning of samples.
3、 Force accuracy
The equipment has automatic compensation function for each level of force value. Under the maximum test force condition of 3000Kgf, the force value accuracy can be controlled within one thousandth, which is one order of magnitude higher than conventional Brinell hardness testers. This indicator has practical significance for data reliability under high-precision detection requirements.
4、 Pressure head and measurement position conversion
The device is equipped with an automatic turret, and the conversion between the pressure head position and the measurement position is automatically completed by program control, without the need for manual rotation of the turret. Reducing manual operation steps in the measurement process helps to improve the detection rhythm.
5、 Focusing and Measurement System
Before indentation measurement, the equipment can automatically focus without the need for manual adjustment by the operator through the eyepiece. The device adopts a dual light path system design, with a built-in camera and micrometer eyepiece that can work simultaneously. The operator can directly observe the indentation through the eyepiece, or automatically read the indentation diameter and calculate the hardness value through computer software. Two methods can be selected according to actual needs.
6、 Automatic correction of hardness value
For standard hardness blocks corresponding to different force values, the device has an automatic correction function built-in, which can compensate for measurement results based on calibration data and reduce measurement deviations caused by system errors.
7、 Sample space and operating interface
The internal space design of the equipment takes into account the placement requirements of large-sized samples, and has a certain degree of compatibility for workpieces with irregular shapes or sizes exceeding conventional ones. After the device is turned on, it can be used directly without the need to install weights or conduct on-site debugging.
The operation adopts a touch screen interface, and the language version can be switched according to user needs. Sample information, experimental parameters, and other data can be saved and accessed, and key settings options have password protection to prevent unauthorized parameter modifications.
Application scenario description
Based on the above functional configuration, this device is suitable for the following detection scenarios:
Brinell hardness testing of large forgings, castings, and shaft parts;
In batch testing scenarios, it is necessary to reduce manual operations and increase the pace of testing;
Laboratories or quality inspection departments that have clear requirements for force accuracy and traceability of measurement data.
